Nitrogen Generator: Working Principle
PSA Nitrogen Generators use the Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) process to deliver a steady flow of nitrogen gas from compressed air. Two towers are packed with Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS). Pretreated compressed air enters the base of the active tower and rises through the CMS bed.
The CMS helps capture oxygen and trace other gases, while helping the nitrogen flow out as the product gas.
Then, the system automatically switches towers after a set cycle time. The saturated tower is regenerated by releasing the trapped gases.
This helps provide a continuous nitrogen supply without any type of hindrances.
